Design Process
for a residential pool & garden...
Form, Function, Style, Pleasure Seeking advice and choosing the right company to complete a significant piece of your dream home can seem daunting. To give you an understanding of what is involved in this process, we have outlined below a step by step process that we will follow to ensure you are provided with quality advice and implementation, relevant to your needs.
Initial Consultation - $220.00 incl GST, 1 - 1.5hrs on-site Sydney metro area The design process begins with an initial on-site meeting to discuss your needs and view the area(s) of development. This is your opportunity to discuss your vision and any ideas that you already have for the area including how you wish to use the space. This will give us a good understanding of your requirements, personal tastes and budget. We will then discuss potential spatial layout, ideas for resolving any current site issues, suitable planting species and potential products etc. A Fee Proposal will be promptly completed and emailed to you after our initial meeting outlining the design process for your project along with the fees to develop and create a Concept Plan.
Concept Design A colour concept plan will be created according to your style and wishes and presented to you showing a detailed design layout of hard and soft areas ie. pool, paving, decking, lawn & gardens. When it comes to visualising your pool and garden we recognize that this is a difficult task for most people…..so we develop our pools and gardens in 3D so you can see exactly how your new garden will look once completed. Materials and finishes will also be discussed as our recommendations suited to the style of your home & garden.
Development Application (DA) or Complying Development (CDC) Once the concept design has been approved by you a DA or CDC plan must be prepared for new homes or if structural landscape components are required for approval. A proposal for preparing these plans and any required written reports for submission will be sent to you outlining the fees and approval process. The DA / CDC plan will then be prepared detailing documentation required for submission purposes.
Construction Documentation In order for your proposed Landscape works to be constructed in accordance to the vision of the project it is important to have a full set of detailed drawings completed. Detailed plans, sections and elevations, construction details, plant scheduling, garden lighting and product specifications will be provided in order for you to commence the tendering of construction. The fees to complete all working drawings are dependant on the level of detailing required along with the scope and size of project.
Construction & Site Visitation Having designed your new garden from the beginning with a vision in mind we take care of sourcing the selected materials such as paving, tiling, stone walling, plants and ornaments to maintain the quality your project deserves. We will introduce you to our recommended contractors for the project that we have built relationships with over many years based on good communication skills, quality of workmanship and importantly maintaining the integrity of the design. Once construction is underway we provide continual communication and site meetings throughout the construction process until completion with client and contractors which is crucial for a successful outcome.
